Line up:
Rear (left - right) Bill Hutchison - Larry Stearns Front: Ed Rodriguez & Norma Lopez
After not playing for a really long time Chris Maravilla asked me to come over and jam with him and some people he had been getting together with for fun. Chris was already playing in a local band called Abby Road. It seemed like we got together pretty well so Ed & Norma wanted to start to play out. Chris already had a band so we put an ad in the paper for another guitarist. Larry Stearns replied to the ad and immediately fit in. Larry was what we needed to fill out the band, great guitar player and singer. This was the beginning of the disco era and I didn't have a clue.... I had always played rock or folk. With Larry's talent for learning songs and figuring out harmonies we were able to put a really good set list together. Norma had a really smooth voice that captured the audience. Larry and I were able to fill in with a solid backup harmony and cover a good range of songs also. Besides playing drums Ed was the tech guy of the band, he had all the sound equipment covered. We became a popular group in the area at the time and had a nice following.
This band was the nucleus to everything that followed musically for me.
